16th Young Researchers’ Lectures – A Celebration of Children’s Passion and Scientific Courage
On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the 16th edition of the Young Researchers’ Lectures took place at the Manufaktura Trzebinia venue – an annual event organized by the Foundation of Małopolski University for Children.
This year’s edition was especially meaningful, as it was held as part of the International Day of Children’s Universities (IDCU-25) – a global celebration of children’s academic engagement and creativity.
Five young speakers aged 10 to 13 – “students” of the Małopolski University for Children took the stage to present their self-prepared final projects. Their presentations ranged from nature and technology to social and philosophical topics.
It was a true joy to witness the calm, confidence, and enthusiasm with which these young researchers shared their passions. Each talk was different, each one special – together, they created something truly moving. The audience, gathered in large numbers, listened as:
- Karol took us on a journey to Normandy,
- Lila opened a window into the world of horseback riding,
- Kuba led us on a cosmic adventure,
- Hania showed why recycling matters,
- and Filip guided us through the scenic parks of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.
At the end of the event, the children received diplomas and book prizes sponsored by the honorary patrons of the Lectures – a Member of the European Parliament, a Member of the Polish Parliament, the Marshal of the Region, the Head of Chrzanów County, and the Mayor of Trzebinia.
The Young Researchers’ Lectures are more than just an event – they are an experience that stays with the children for a long time. It helps them believe in themselves, strengthens their curiosity about the world, and gives them the sense that their voice – even if still young – matters.
