The annual General Assembly will take place in Vienna/Austria (July, 19th, 2013)

Children's Universities have continued their success story in the past two years. The meeting will provide a great opportunity for networking and meeting people again - and for thinking about the future of Children's Universities and what is expected from EUCU.NET in this regard. In addition to the formal agenda (download here) we are planning a supporting programme which will consider how the impact of children's universities can be enhanced and made visible in the longer run - both inside and outside the academic (host) organisations. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to join the graduation ceremony of the Vienna Children's University in the grand festivity hall of the Vienna University - and to enjoy the charming scenery of summerly Vienna!

Members have received their personal invitation via e-mail already. We kindly request you to confirm your attendance by sending a short note to the EUCU.NET General Secretary before July 5th, 2013.

We are currently updating our EUCU.NET project data base. The aim is to track the developments and changes in the area of Children's Universities since the establishment of EUCU.NET in 2008.

If you are contacted by our colleague Stefanie Moshammer-Mischkof please be supportive and help us to bring our knowledge up to date.

Moreover the results will feed into the SiS Catalyst project.

The preparations for the EUCU.NET / SiS Catalyst Conference in Łódź are in full swing.

Currently we are fine tuning the conference general theme: "Truth or Dare? How controversial can science communication for children be? Dilemmas in science communication with children"

If you have comments to the topic or wishes for the conference please contact us in timely manner.

Last year our colleagues Jolanta Różowska (Malopolski University for Children, Chrzanów) and Jerzy Jarosz (Children University of Silesia, Katowice) wrote an interesting article about the Polish Children's Universities movement for us.

During the last years the Children's Univerisities scene in Poland became very active and they are currently counting close to 150 projects all over the country.

Read the whole article on our website.

If you are interested in additional readings [sorry, in Polish only!] you can also visit the website of the Children's University of Łódź where Anna Janicka compiled a vast amount of information about the Polish projects.
