Dear members!

We are happy to invite you to join the meeting on January 17th/18th 2019 in Vienna.

This one and a half day meeting will provide opportunities both for continuing networking and setting thematic priorities. It will include two parts (see draft agenda attached):

Session 1: Round Table: “Inclusive education and the role of early science engagement” (Jan 17th, 16:30 – 19:00, followed by an evening reception)

This session is co-organized with the MultInclude project (Erasmus+). Following an introductory keynote by Prof. Frank Tuitt (University of Denver), experts and practitioners will discuss in a Round Table the political, empirical and practical implications of inclusive education in increasingly diverse environments and what science engagement programs can contribute at young ages. An evening reception will provide room for continuing the debate.

Session 2: Working session and General Assembly (Jan 18th, 09:30 – 17:00, followed by a members' dinner)

This working session will focus on the role of parents and the advancement of quality management and research on Children’s Universities.

For the first part, we will be joined by Ms Eszter Salamon, Director of the International Parents Alliance (IPA), who will give us a presentation about the perspectives and expectations of parents in the context of science engagement offers for children. This presentation will lead to a workshop about proposals for involvement of parents in Children’s Universities.

For the second part, we will present the Research Grant as a model for enhancing empirical research on Children’s Universities and will discuss its implementation. Furthermore we are excited to showcase the redesigned website.

Proposals for additional agenda items can be accepted until the January 4th, 2019. Any motion should be sent to Chris Gary as General Secretary. The final agenda will be sent out in due time.

We are happy if you are able to join us!

Looking forward to welcome you in Vienna,

Chris Gary and Cyril Dworsky
