    Meeting with the KölnerKinderUni Rat

16th July 2009

First meeting between the collaborators of the University of Luxembourg - Prof. Ferring respectively Christiane Reuter – and the collaborators of the University of Cologne – Prof. Meyer-Wolters respectively Ursula Pietsch-Lindt

During their meeting C. Reuter and U. Pietsch-Lindt discussed the agenda of the Luxembourg Children’s University Day. Children from Luxembourg as well as members of the KölnerKinderUni Rat will attend the Children’s University Day in Luxembourg. Due to their experience with the organisation of the Children’s University in Cologne, the ideas of the German children how to realise a Children’s University Day in Luxembourg are taken into consideration by periodical meetings between U. Pietsch-Lindt and the KölnerKinderUni Rat.

“Lucy and Luc”

“Lucy and Luc”: This will probably be the name of the Luxembourg Children’s University Day.
The Luxembourg Children’s University Day will take place on 29th November. The event will be opened by a greeting session where the children from the KölnerKinderUni Rat will have the opportunity to present the Kölner Kinderuni. At the moment, two blocks of workshops – at all eight workshops – are planed. Each child has the possibility to choose two workshops which are prepared by scholars from different departments of the University of Luxembourg such as psychologists, historians, geographers and engineers. It is foreseen that also a scholar from the University of Cologne will give a lecture. After the workshops, a short session will close the Luxembourg Children’s University Day.

What is the most important thing for a Children’s University Day?

This is the question the children from the KölnerKinderUni Rat thought about. The provisional answers are: Learning more about the world ... having fun ... learning differently.
